While you were sleeping, I slipped in a new book on Amazon. This is my newest edition to John Barrett Resources, where I want to help you level up and become the best leader you can be. This new book is a collection of 20 ways to lead yourself. It’s titled Leadership Starts With You, and it’s all about…well…you.
Navigating leadership can be a confusing and overwhelming journey. There is uncharted territory to get lost in. Seemingly insurmountable mountains to climb. And life-threatening rapids to endure, just to mention a few. And don’t let me forget the unforeseen challenges that arise every morning to greet your workload. No wonder most people placed in a “leadership” position tend to quit within the first year. The journey becomes more than we bargained for, and sometimes, even our physical health suffers if we are not careful.
I have coached leaders for over twenty years and have seen just about every situation you can imagine when it comes to people coming and going into leadership. I have discovered that most leaders, especially young leaders, get thrown into a wilderness of challenges without guidance. There is no compass to help them navigate through the peaks and valleys of their responsibilities. Therefore, they feel lost, afraid, alone, and disillusioned at what they thought would be a career-advancing trek. This is where I come in…enter your leadership coach and guide.
Every leader needs a guide to help bring out the best in them. Luke had Yoda, Katniss had Haymitch, Frodo had Gandolph, Dorothy had Glenda, and the list goes on. Everyone needs a trusted coach to help them unleash the hero they were created to be. I do just that. My role is to catapult your leadership ability and level up your success.
Though I wish we could spend one-on-one time to help you where you are specifically, I have done the next best thing I can do. I have compiled a field guide to serve as a compass for your leadership journey. This field guide identifies some of the most critical lessons every leader needs to know to find the true north of leadership. This guide will be your personal compass to help guide you toward success in your leadership adventure.
I hope you dive in and allow these principles to impact your leadership, even if you just need to be reminded of what’s essential for leading yourself.
Enjoy!
