Leverage Your Lungs
The way we communicate has the power to either:
- Construct or Destruct
- Build or Bulldoze
- Empower or Implode
- Motivate or Mutilate
- Exonerate or Assassinate
Excellent communication
When communication goes down, confusion
comes up.
Words always produce results: good, bad, or indifferent. Words are constantly at work effecting outcomes. Once something is communicated, it is out there. The wave of impact that word has will continue to carry momentum long after it is heard. This is why we play back words and conversations in our heads long after the conversation has been finished. Author Napoleon Hill said, “Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.” Words are truly like seeds that will eventually produce sweet fruits or bitter roots. As leaders, we must be very careful and very intentional about the words we communicate.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of death and life.” The more respect a person has, the more powerful their words become. What you say, and how you say it, determines what happens, and how it will happen. You will never see a highly successful leader or organization that communicates from a negative narrative. In fact, the reason they became successful is largely due to communicating life-giving words. However, you will always see struggling leaders and organizations consistently speaking from a negative, life-draining narrative.
Leverage your lungs and use your words wisely for they will determine the future.
